FilmFrukost #13 med Chaitanya Tamhane
Welcome to FilmFrukost – International Edition
Just as last year, we at FilmCloud are hosting an international edition of our monthly FilmFrukost – filmmakers breakfast. This time we are glad to announce that our guest will be the prized director Chaitanya Tamhane, who is competing for The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award at Göteborg Film Festival with his film "Court".
The film "Court" revolves around the circumstances that arise post the suicide of a sewage worker. It has received widespread critical acclaim for the way it reflects the functioning of the Indian judiciary. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, where Chaitanya won the Best Debut award.
"Court" is screening at Bio Capitol on Thursday 29th at 8 pm, if you want to take a look before the talk! For more information about the other screenings, visit GFFs webpage.

Chaitanya Tamhane was born in Mumbai, India, in 1987. He is an English literature graduate, who has been actively involved in theatre since 2004 and has won several awards as a playwright and director. In 2006, he wrote and directed a feature-length documentary Four Step Plan, on plagiarism in Indian cinema. His first full length play as a writer-director, Grey Elephants in Denmark opened in 2009.
