Workshop: “Moving Past The Blank Page: Generating Writing Inspiration, Compelling Narratives & Believable Characters For Games”

Building on what was learnt during the morning’s lecture, this workshop delves deeper into the tricks and techniques that can be used to craft the narrative for a game from the most terrifying place for any writer: the blank page!

For whom: You are a filmmaker, scriptwriter, game -, VR - ,or AR-developer with interest in the connection between story and audience connection. Students at relevant educations are welcome. Previous writing experience for audio visual content is desirable. 15 participants can attend.

Charlene Putney is an award-winning writer and teacher from Ireland. After working at Google and Facebook in management positions, she turned to the more creative side of tech and began writing for videogames in 2013. Most recently, she worked on Divinity: Original Sin 2 and story for the upcoming Baldur's Gate 3. She now works at framebunker in Copenhagen. She also teaches interactive fiction at university level, and yoga on the weekends. Say hi to @alphachar!
